Insects/Bugs/Bees/Butterflies - Armyworm Moths - Yellow-striped Armyworm Moth
Class:Insecta Order:Lepidoptera Family:Spodoptera Genus:ornithogalli

Army Worm Moth, Mythimna unipuncta. Family: Noctuidae. Found in fields, gardens and meadows all over non-arctic areas of North America. Adults and larvae are nocturnal with a high level of activity at night. They are identifiable by the single white dot on each forewing, and their species' name means roughly, "one point" in latin. I only saw this moth for a few weeks in the late Summer.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
