Progressive Bee Fly, Exoprosopa decora. Black shiny bee fly with "Snoopy" shaped white spot on the wings. Its species name means adorned or elegant in Latin. The progressive is one of the largest species of bee fly. I found this Bee Fly on a Plains Sunflower on the shore of a Kansas lake.
