Insects/Bugs/Bees/Butterflies - Apoid Wasps - Square-headed Wasp
Class:Insecta Order:Hymenoptera Family:Crabronidae

Square-headed Wasps, Oxybelus uniglumis. This wasp has a black & white body with balck eyes and a black head. They can be found on flowers, feed on mostly flies and feed dead insects to their larvae. I frequently see Square-headed Wasps and Spider Wasps scrambling nervously in and out of the Honeyvine Milkweed vines.

All species pages are currently being updated with more useful descriptions and information.
